Cancer patients receiving chemotherapy will need devices to deliver the chemotherapy in a large vein inside the body to avoid damage caused by the chemotherapeutic agent to the small veins of the arms and hands.

This device is called a Port-A-Cath, which can be placed safely at our Dar Al Khebra center under local anesthesia.

Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt or transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic stent shunting (commonly abbreviated as TIPS ) is an artificial channel within the liver that establishes communication between the inflow portal vein and the outflow hepatic vein.

Prostatic artery embolization (PAE) is a non surgical procedure that is performed at Dar Al Khebra with high successful results.

It is a safe and highly effective procedure that shrinks the prostate gland dramatically. This helps older men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) to get relieved from the common symptoms caused by prostate enlargement

Compared to surgical management, PAE has the following advantages:

• This is a one day procedure which is performed without surgery under local anesthesia These is no need for general anesthesia which usually present a risk especially for older patients.

Vein ablation is a minimally invasive performed that is performed using ultrasound guidance. After applying local anesthetic to the skin over the vein, one of our clinical team at Dar Al Khebra Center  inserts a catheter into the abnormal vein. Through this catheter, laser energy is applied to the inside of the vein to seal it closed.
